Waterbury or “The Brass City
”, as it is locally known, is located in New Haven County, about 90 minutes drive northeast of New York. With a population of about 110,000 residents, it is the fifth-largest city in the State of Connecticut. Although Waterbury was incorporated in 1686, its most important period is connected with the development of brass industry, which happened in the early 19th century and lasted until the second half of the past century, when the largest brass producer closed its production. Of course, there are plenty of things to see and hope for in Waterbury, that are not related to brass. One of those certainly is the astonishing Palace Theater
, which is recorded in the National Register of Historic Places.
